Monster Hunter Rise PC requirements will make slaying beasts a breeze

We covered Monster Hunter Rise‘s demo back when it went live and, honestly, I was more than pleased by the game’s performance. On a mid-range setup, I got over 100 fps with ease at max settings. Now we know why. Monster Hunter Rise‘s PC requirements have been revealed, making it even more clear just how easy it’ll be to run the game even for people without monstrous rigs. At the very least, it’s a less demanding game than Monster Hunter World by a fairly wide margin, but that game does have more complex visuals.

Take a look for yourself below:

Minimum:

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 (DDR4) or AMD Radeon RX 550
CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 or Core i5-3470 or AMD FX-6100
RAM: 8 GB

Recommended:

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (VRAM 3 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 570 (VRAM 4 GB)
CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD FX-8300
RAM: 8 GB

As you can see, those are definitely on the low side. However, there’s a catch. The descriptions say that the minimums are for low settings at 1080p/30 fps, and the recommended is for average settings at the same specifications. Meaning that the recommended settings aren’t actually recommended at all. I can confirm that a 5700 XT and 2600x are enough to run Monster Hunter Rise with max settings at over 100 fps, though, so you can use that to give you a bit of a better idea. I’d wager even a GTX 1060 can do better than what the Steam page says, as the game was developed for the Switch.

It’s (almost) time to Rise

Monster Hunter Rise is slated to come to PC on January 12, 2022, so there are less than two months to go. The latest game in the series adds some killer new hooks, including being able to use monsters as mounts and a, erm, nifty grappling hook. It’s a shorter game compared to Monster Hunter World, but that’s not always a bad thing, especially considering that the PC version will launch with the updates the Switch version has received over time.
