Last week, Square Enix revealed its current content roadmap for Final Fantasy XIV, which includes everything from graphical upgrades to an improved Trust System. Square Enix relayed this information through an incredibly jam-packed live stream that lasted around five hours long. Just today, the company hosted another lengthy live stream in which they covered the first significant patch that will come to Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. This new update, numbered 6.1, will boast quite a bit of content much like the major patches before it, and players can expect to experience it for themselves in mid-April.
Once Patch 6.1 arrives, players can access a whole host of new main story quests, as well as new beast tribe quests. Additionally, players can test their skills against each other in the new Crystalline Conflict PvP mode and further explore their classes with newly added job adjustments. The expanded Trust System that Square Enix discussed in last week’s live stream will come to the game as part of the 6.1 patch, so players will soon have more opportunities to experience the game alone if they wish.
Catering to both casual and hardcore players
This upcoming patch will also introduce Myths of the Realm, a new Alliance Raid that, as usual, supports 24 players. Those who participate don’t necessarily have to be at the top of their game to have a good time, as the raid is intended to be a fun, casual way to earn more loot. Players looking for something more high stakes can have a go at a new ultimate challenge, dubbed Dragonsong’s Reprise, which requires a skilled team of players.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker already includes plenty of content on its own, so this patch will give players more than they could have ever asked for. The live stream covering Patch 6.1 is still up, so those wanting to learn more can check it out below.
