The Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 release date is Sunday, March 20, 2022. The Season 1 ending event starts Saturday, March 19 and you can already see a countdown clock at the center of the map. Maybe followed by downtime for a day (like past season cross-overs). Season 2 will drop March 2 on 8:00 AM EDT or 2:00 PM CEST.
