Rune Factory 5 Tips and Tricks
Up next are 10 essential tips and tricks for beginners in Rune Factory 5!
Tip 1 Correction: Tomato seeds can be gotten early (as shown in this video) through the New Ranger Care Pack, obtained with the digital deluxe version of the game. Otherwise, they are unlocked later, after the request asking you to ship 20 cabbages, chinese cabbages and onions. However, the tip still stands that you should plant crops harvestable multiple times rather than one-time harvests if you’d like to make a lot of money, as in RF5 crops won’t wilt when the season ends (unlike in Story of Seasons), and you can keep harvesting them as long as they are healthy. You can use your hoe to till corn, wilted grass or 4-leaf clovers on a crop to recover its HP.
Recommended crops are pumpkins, bell peppers and strawberries, which are unlocked a lot earlier with the requests! Most of my income in-game has come from strawberries.
The Ultimate Curry trick. It gets you Ultimate Curry, which you sell for 500,000 credits / money. Whatever the money in this game is called. Go to the website on the first page for more information on this because there are too many spoilers to go into detail, unless asked.
Unlimited logs and stones for upgrades. You need to beat the first dungeon, unlock the second farm, and be able to count to 8. 9 chops/blows would destroy the item, 8 would get you supplies. Teleport to other farm, repeat, teleport, and repeat.
Befriend the crystal shop owner before your birthday. 5 happiness. He will give you a heart crystal, sell it. Then you can buy them. Make a silver locket. Then combine the 2 to make an accessory that speeds up how quickly you skill up.
Potion x will give you all the negative status effects, like 4, but you wont skill up in 5. To get around that you can make weapons that give all the negative effects using an item called harmony potion that a certain monster drops, and put three on a weapon. 3 is the max, anything higher and it will fail.
You can raise your cooking skill by buying turnip seeds, try cooking your most expensive dish, fail and cook with your failed dishes. Only do this after shipping a level 10 item you’ve grown. You have to unlock a certain seed that only shows up after shipping a level 10. This works with smithing and chemistry skill as well.
