Genshin Impact version 2.7 trailer showcases new characters Yelan and Kuki Shinobu

Genshin Impact Version 2.7’s delay is now a thing of the past, and HoYoverse is spiraling onwards with the new version. News that Version 2.7 would drop on May 31 came about last week and, soon after, a livestream showcased much of the new content coming to the game, including new characters Yelan and Kuki Shinobu. Currently, Version 2.6 is only running one event and has no new content. So, the fact that we’re getting something new is a necessary change of pace.

Lore fiends in particular will enjoy the next version of Genshin Impact, which sees the return of Lumine (or Aether, depending on who you picked). Popular characters like Xiao, Arataki Itto, and Yanfei are also intersecting in a unique pairing, which should serve to bring some comical interactions. But all eyes will be on the new playable characters of Genshin Impact, Yelan and Kuki Shinobu.

Return of the twins

The next version of Genshin Impact will also include some new events. The “Perilous Trail” will task the Traveler and Paimon with investigating the “mysteries of the depths” in this new battle event. A new rhythm mini-game will also be available, following Arataki Itto and his gang as he ropes you into playing some drums. “Core of the Apparatus” will have you gather materials for a toymaker, and “A Muddy Bizarre Adventure” tasks you with investigating the mines of The Chasm.

This does seem to be a bit lighter in terms of content compared to other updates. But the Version 2.8 beta is already ongoing with a new character Shikanoin Heizou on the way. It’s great that Genshin Impact is getting back on track, although it’ll see a return to form for my empty wallet. All these new characters coming out really serve as a huge obstacle to my frugality. Be sure to pull for Yelan and Kuki Shinobu once Genshin Impact version 2.7 drops May 31.
