Western Star 57X charges into American Truck Simulator for free

Once again, SCS has teamed up with a manufacturer to introduce a new rig into one of its simulators. In this case, the new 2022 Western Star 57X is making its way to American Truck Simulator.

Described as the “most advanced and innovative Western Star highway truck,” the new 57X has a rather modernized interior. It’s more sleek and rugged design keeps up with the brand’s design language while also giving it a clean, new look.

Rolling west

In American Truck Simulator, the Western Star 57X sports a “select choice of configurations and customizations” that you can take advantage of. The two available cab options consist of the day cab and 72″ sleeper cab. In terms of chassis, you can select either between three short options and two longer options.

As seen in the trailer, you can customize the truck’s interior with five designs to suit your desired color scheme. There’s also a Detroit-branded powertrain option, along with “so many more customizations and accessories” available.Western Star 57x American Truck Simulator Promo 3

Seeing that this virtual version of the 57X was revealed alongside its real-world counterpart, American Truck Simulator players can potentially enjoy its features before real truck drivers are even able to.

And like the previous trucks that SCS has added to American Truck Simulator, the Western Star 57X will arrive as free DLC. Simply track down a Western Star dealership in-game and purchase the new truck with in-game currency.

Beyond the new set of wheels, American Truck Simulator players can experience a whole new map soon. On August 4, the “Big Sky” state of Montana map joins the growing list of places players can drive in. Featuring 15 new major settlements, miles and miles of new road networks, and an expanded Yellowstone National Park, Montana is set to be another great “country-style” state to go along with the bordering Wyoming and Idaho maps.
