Traitor Chokran is the first boss that you’ll face in Moonscars‘ campaign. He doesn’t really pose much of a threat, but he has some moves that can punish you if you’re not careful. Here’s our Moonscars Traitor Chokran boss guide to help you defeat this opponent.
Note: We’ll have a Moonscars guides and features hub soon, so stay tuned.
Moonscars Traitor Chokran boss guide
You’ll encounter Traitor Chokran in Moonscars‘ Outskirts zone. He pops up from time to time, accusing your character of betraying him. Shortly thereafter, you’ll stumble upon the Fortress fast travel point. As you circle around to end up in the northeastern section, he’ll show up again inside a large chamber. This will cause him to transform into a dark entity.
Chokran has the following abilities:
- Undead Knight Summon – He’ll periodically cause mobs to appear in the arena. You can smack them around to build up your ichor/mana for healing and skill usage. Killing them can also cause you to level up your Spite, and if the recovery option shows up, you’d get free healing instantly.
- Triple Swipes – He’ll do a combo as he slashes across the floor.
- Deadly Plunge – Chokran will jump up and disappear from the screen. After around 10 seconds, he’ll crash right on top of you. There’s no indicator for this, so just be ready when you see him pop up from the top of the screen.
- Revenant Spike Rain – A spectral clone of your foe will appear. Red lines will then emanate from it, and several projectiles will fly out. Move to the gaps or dash to avoid them.
- Spike Barrage – Below 50% health, Chokran will also do the Spike Rain move on his own, casting this ability thrice in succession. This can also occur while the Revenant and Undead Knights are summoned.
In any case, the Chokran boss fight in Moonscars shouldn’t trouble you too much since you’ve barely started the game. You should be able to drop him with some well-timed slashes and parries whenever he does his Triple Swipes attack. Just watch out since you have to parry the actual hit that might connect with your character, as opposed to the animation where it’s as though he’ll pass through you.
Once you’ve beaten him, it’s time to head further to the High Castle. There, you’ll roam around until you can face the Royal Infant.
